Overview

The hymn “Hekayat” (Arabic for “Stories”) invites the listener on a journey of faith and perseverance. Unlike a traditional music video, this project blends AI‑generated visuals with live performances to tell a cohesive story. Working closely with ChatGPT, we designed every element—from lyrics and composition to imagery and editing—using a mix of human creativity and artificial intelligence.

Working with 145+ AI Prompts

To visualise the narrative we crafted more than 145 prompts for generative AI tools. Each prompt described the scene, mood and characters we wanted to portray. We iterated through countless variations to find the perfect balance of colour, composition and symbolism. The resulting images formed a rich library of assets—desert landscapes, candlelit chapels, abstract textures and gentle illustrations—that we sequenced to match the hymn’s verses.

This prompt‑driven approach allowed us to rapidly prototype ideas and refine them. Some prompts produced surprising results, which we embraced to enhance the storytelling. Others needed tweaks, and ChatGPT helped us rephrase and adjust the descriptions until the outputs aligned with our vision.

Music, Lyrics & AI Collaboration

The song’s melody and lyrics were composed by Mano and arranged in our studio. We recorded live vocals and instruments, then experimented with AI‑generated harmonies and textures to enrich the soundscape. ChatGPT assisted in brainstorming lyrical themes and refining verses, ensuring the words resonated with the visuals and overall message. The final mix blends human performance with subtle AI embellishments, creating a modern yet timeless feel.

Editing & Post‑Production

In post‑production we assembled the AI‑generated imagery, live footage and graphics into a cohesive sequence. Detailed storyboards kept us organised: every cut, transition and colour grade served the narrative. We used motion design to animate still images, adding gentle zooms, pans and dissolves. Colour grading unified the diverse assets and set the mood for each section of the hymn.

Challenges & Lessons Learned

Coordinating over 145 AI prompts required patience and persistence. Not every generated image matched our expectations, and aligning the visual timing with the music demanded careful editing. However, the process highlighted the incredible potential of AI as a creative partner. By combining algorithmic experimentation with human judgement, we achieved a result that feels both organic and innovative.

“Hekayat” stands as a testament to the power of collaboration—between artists, machines and the Holy Spirit—to tell stories that inspire. We hope this case study encourages others to explore the intersection of AI and art in their own work.
